An established and innovative engineering manufacturer is looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join its Electronics Manufacturing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in driving continuous improvement, supporting new product introduction and ensuring robust quality standards across a technically advanced production environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for improving quality, safety, delivery performance and manufacturing efficiency within an electronics production environment, while supporting both existing products and new product introductions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) and Kaizen activities across the manufacturing value stream.
  • Review, audit and improve manufacturing processes and quality controls.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation including SOPs, Control Plans and best practice procedures.
  • Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving techniques such as 5 Whys and 8D.
  • Support risk reduction through FMEA, Control Plans and preventative quality activities.
  • Monitor and analyse KPIs and operational performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate pre-production builds alongside Production and Planning teams.
  • Manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) relating to customer quality issues.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.
  • Ensure effective change control processes are followed.
  • Promote Lean Manufacturing principles throughout production.
  • Support operational objectives set by Quality and Manufacturing leadership.
  • Ensure all activities comply with Health & Safety and quality management standards.
About You
  • Previous experience in a Quality Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer position within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality tools including Root Cause Analysis, 8D and 5 Whys.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality systems.
  • Experience using FMEA, Control Plans and change management processes.
  • Comfortable analysing KPIs and using data to drive improvements.
  • Six Sigma and/or Statistical Process Control (SPC) experience would be advantageous.
  • Experience with in electronics manufacturing or knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 standards would be beneficial.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality or a related technical discipline is desirable.
