Role Summary
We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Registered Nurse for a 12‑month fixed term/secondment in Ward 7 at Borders General Hospital. The ward is an acute surgical unit with 31 beds covering General Surgery, Gynaecology and Urology.
Key Responsibilities- Make confident decisions and work independently without direct supervision.
- Supervise registered and unregistered staff and student nurses.
- Assess patient needs and deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, patients and families to coordinate complex discharges.
- Operate flexibly across day and night shifts to support a 24/7 service.
- Full UK NMC registration.
- Evidence of right to work in the UK or sponsorship eligibility (must be confirmed before application).
- Adaptable, decision‑making ability and experience in acute surgical settings are desirable.
