The Evelyn Sutherland Nurse Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS):
Gynaecological Cancers/Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP)

Permanent

22.5hrs per week

A unique opportunity is afforded to NHS Borders, through the Evelyn Sutherland Trust, for a motivated and experienced registered nurse to join NHS Borders Gynaecology Cancer CNS Team and with a clinical remit for CUP.

The successful post holder will facilitate multidisciplinary working across professional boundaries in health and social care settings by providing a person-centred nurse led service; through investigation, diagnosis and treatment, supporting anticipatory care planning and bereavement as appropriate.

The ability to work well as part of a team across regional networks is essential. This includes attendance at South-East Scotland Cancer Network multidisciplinary clinical meetings and strategic meetings as a deputy for the Lead CNS, in person or virtually.

The post holder will require excellent communication and organisational skills. Experience of caring for people with complex needs will be advantageous.

Applications are warmly invited from compassionate nurses who have a particular interest in advancing clinical and leadership skills in the Cancer Nurse Specialist field where professional development is encouraged and supported.

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to give a 10 minute presentation on ‘Facilitating person-centred, specialist cancer care in a district general hospital’.
