Clinical Laboratory Supervisor – Blood Bank

Job Title – Clinical Laboratory Supervisor – Blood Bank

Location – Melrose, MA

Role Type – Direct Hire

Required Skills / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology (must meet CLIA & State requirements)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Technologist/Technician in Blood Bank
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • ASCP and/or AMT certification a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and state regulatory requirements
Responsibilities and Job Details
  • Supervise day-to-day operations of the Blood Bank department at a leading regional hospital
  • Oversee staffing, workflow, training, and scheduling to ensure departmental efficiency
  • Ensure quality control and regulatory compliance with CLIA, CAP, and state guidelines
  • Train and mentor team members while managing performance and development
  • Perform bench work as needed to support lab operations
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of laboratory test results
  • Lead and participate in process improvement and quality assurance initiatives
  • Maintain and audit documentation for compliance and quality control
  • Handle administrative tasks including payroll and personnel documentation
  • Serve as liaison with other departments and external partners as needed
  • Schedule:

    Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
