Overview
We’re seeking a skilled and experienced paralegal to support our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will use their work experience and organizational skills to prepare and maintain legal documents, file motions, interview clients, and conduct legal research.
Responsibilities- Hold client interviews to gather information about their legal problems
- Aid lawyers in trial preparation by preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, conducting research on legal articles, and assisting with client meetings and filing motions
- Organize case filing systems to ensure all documents are properly sorted and easy to locate, and perform other administrative duties as needed
- Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the guidance of a lawyer
- Coordinate law office activity, including drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers
- Prepare and draft family law documents, including complaints, motions, financial statements, separation agreements, and discovery responses
- Manage case files and maintain client communication with empathy and professionalism
- Coordinate with courts, opposing counsel, and clients regarding hearings, filings, and case updates
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation and document organization
- Handle Rule 410 financial disclosures and compile supporting documentation
- Track deadlines and court schedules to ensure timely filings
- Support intake and client onboarding as needed
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Paralegal professional certification or advanced paralegal education preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and talent for writing and grammar
- At least 4 years working as a Family Law Paralegal with a strong understanding of Massachusetts probate and family court procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and legal software (Clio experience a plus)
- Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage a high volume of cases while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Professional demeanor and client-centered mindset
Compensation: $52,000+ per year
