Semi-Senior Accountant

Overview

A small, but modern and successful accountancy firm based in Melton Mowbray is seeking a Semi‑Senior Accountant for a key role with development prospects, flexible terms, study support and ongoing development. The firm is experiencing growth and is looking to expand its workforce to manage increasing workload. Salary is negotiable and will depend on experience and qualification level.

• Xero software – bank reconciliation, invoicing, payments, etc.
• Preparation of accounts for the director's review
• Analysing receipts and bank statements on a spreadsheet
• Posting journals
• Maintaining the fixed assets register
• Preparing management accounts
• Preparing personal tax returns and VAT returns
• Working closely with clients, primarily handling bookkeeping, VAT returns, tax computations and accounts preparation

• Any experience using Xero, SAGE, and IRIS software is beneficial but not essential
• Studying AAT, ACCA, ACA or possessing relevant practical experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience in accounting or related field
