Sports Coach Cover Supervisor – Melton Mowbray

Smile Education are delighted to be supporting this friendly, Melton Mowbray secondary school in the recruitment of a Sports Coach. The role can be offered on a full‑time or part‑time basis, ideally starting after Christmas.

We are currently seeking a Sports Coach to join this busy school based in Melton Mowbray. This role is ideal for any graduates from a sports related degree or coaches with significant experience working with children or young adults. The successful applicant will be supporting pupils from Year 7 through to GCSE level, working alongside experienced PE Teachers and delivering pre‑planned lesson content.

This role is ideal for anyone who may be considering teacher training options, allowing you to gain first‑hand classroom‑based experience before committing to a route of study. It is also a fantastic change of pace for any experienced coaches looking for a new challenge.

The school is located in Melton Mowbray within close proximity to North Leicester. Applicants will receive training through our Smile Education Graduate Academy, including safeguarding training and access to multiple online training courses.

We would like applicants to be either a recent graduate from a sport based route of study, graduating from 2022 onwards, or an experienced coach with a significant work history based around supporting children or young adults.

To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:

• A recent graduate (from 2022 onwards) from a sports related route of study, or an experienced sports coach with a background in supporting children or young adults.
• Confident in managing practical sports activities while working with large groups of pupils.
• A genuine interest in working within a school setting and supporting pupils in PE.
• Able to manage behaviour of young people in a classroom.
