Position: Head of Finance (12 month maternity cover)

The Melton Building Society recently celebrated 150 years of helping people to buy their homes and make the most of their savings.

We’re looking for an experienced Head of Finance to join us on a minimum 12‑month fixed‑term contract, providing maternity cover. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead our Finance function and make a meaningful impact from day one.

About the position

This role is responsible for leading the Finance team, ownership of technical accounting areas, statutory reporting and managing the year-end audit process. The role will also involve assisting the CFO with financial forecasting for the Group.

This is against a backdrop of sound finance operational resilience and a robust control environment.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with at least 5 years’ experience of financial services working either within a finance department or practice
  • Proven track record of interpreting accounting standards and being able to apply them in a practical environment
  • Previous experience of leading teams
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance within financial services.
  • Strong understanding of risk management and proven ability to work in a regulatory environment.
