Yard Operative

David Musson Fencing Ltd is a family-run business founded in 1981 to supply fencing materials, landscaping materials, drainage and more to the local area and nationwide. We are now recruiting for a yard operative during our seasonal period on a 6 month contract. The ideal person will have experience within the builders' merchants/timber-merchant sector in a yard or warehouse environment.

As a Yard operative your role will involve manual handling as well as using equipment to load and unload customers, interacting with customers and making sure they are satisfied, and ensuring the yard is kept presented to a high standard. The main part of this role will be picking and packing the orders for delivery during our busy spring period.

• Week 1 - Monday to Friday
• Week 2 – Monday to Friday & Saturday Morning

£12.59 per hour.

• Assisting customers.
• Loading and unloading vehicles.
• Picking and checking orders.
• Maintaining a tidy and safe working environment.
• Manual handling tasks.
• Stock taking.
• Builders’ merchant / timber-merchant industry knowledge.

• Has the likeability factor.
• Is hard working.
• Has a positive attitude.
• Has good attention to detail (Reading, Writing & Counting is essential!).
• Is prepared to work outside in all weathers.
• Reach truck licence desired.

Up to 50 hours per week - additional hours may be available during the busy period.
