Contract length: 12 month contract potential to extend

Shift Pattern:
Monday - Friday flexible shifts 35 hours (8 hour day with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break)

The successful R&D Technologist will join the Team and help support both the Laboratory and Factory. This position is an excellent opportunity to join a skilled team working for an innovative and exciting brand. The R&D Technologist will help with food safety and Quality testing, Microbiology testing and analysing data.

Responsibilities
  • Sampling and Inspection of raw materials at receiving, finished product for the sample library, label, and store them as per the procedure.
  • Sampling and testing of in-process and/or finished product samples for troubleshooting, including held product for review and disposition by Q&FS.
  • Collect environmental swabs following the Micro Standard and submit for testing.
  • Maintaining the internal laboratory. Participating in the MGS quality control program.
  • Register samples and swabs for external laboratory analysis.
  • Analyse Microscopy on foreign bodies and prepare a database.
  • Data collection, trend analysis, and reporting of test results, non-conformances (NCs) including S-CAPA, CAPA, PRIMPs), and customer complaints, etc.
  • Follow up on closure of PRIMPs, CAPAs, and S-CAPAs.
  • Participate in the quality panel to determine product conformance to a standard.
  • Support calibration and validation as per Q&FS schedules (scales, check weighers, Ishida, Metal Detectors, X-rays, and F0).
  • Support line trials led by Q&FS/PPI/Packaging teams.
  • Investigate customer and consumer complaints for root cause and preventive action.
  • Document control: update Q&FS documents on digital platforms, prepare logbooks (Q&FS forms) for the factory, and archive documents.
  • Participate in process confirmation, internal audit, glass and plastic, and GMP/GHP audit program.
  • Conduct traceability exercise.
  • Support the site with Pest control and sanitation program based on requirements established by Q&FS.
  • Coordinate training of quality-related topics for supply associates.
  • Provide input into Material Risk Assessments.
Key Skills/Qualifications/Experience
  • Previous Laboratory or Factory experience within a food testing environment is essential
  • A Biology/ Microbiology Degree is desired
  • Analytical testing
  • SAP Business desired but not essential
  • Tech savvy and a quick learner who can pick up new systems quickly
  • University Graduates/ Internships are welcome to apply who have lab experience through studying
