We are seeking a Resident Engineer to oversee and direct the resident engineering construction inspection services teams assigned to various infrastructure projects. In this position, you will work closely with the client's management team and the construction contractor to deliver successful projects.
Base pay range$/yr - $/yr
What you'll do:- Oversee Construction Compliance
:
Manage contracts, field inspections, and ensure adherence to plans, specifications, codes, and quality assurance standards. - Coordinate and Communicate
:
Lead or attend pre-construction conferences, progress meetings, and safety meetings; interpret drawings and specifications for stakeholders. - Review and Approve Documentation
:
Evaluate submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other construction documents; schedule and verify material testing for compliance. - Monitor Progress and Reporting
:
Track contract costs and schedules, approve payment requisitions, perform daily inspections, maintain reports, and manage punch lists. - Lead and Mentor
:
Provide technical guidance, supervise junior staff, and apply knowledge of cost trends, change management, and claims to maintain project standards.
- Education
:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college required. - Licensure
:
Valid NYS P.E. License. - Experience
:
Minimum 7-10 years experience in construction inspection and/or management of various infrastructure projects including water/wastewater treatment plants, water distribution, wastewater collection, storm drains and road construction projects. - Skills
:
Must have strong communication skills to lead and direct project initiatives. Demonstrated ability to tactfully shift priorities and solve problems at multiple levels.
