SENIOR Mechanical Engineer

Representing a growing MEP & Fire Protection firm, we are searching for a Senior Mechanical Engineer, to join their team. Office is located in western Suffolk County--easy commute; close to major highways.

As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for completing detailed engineering calculations, designing HVAC systems, etc.

• Reviewing and analyzing architectural & engineering plans
• Performing engineering calculations to support HVAC system design
  • Heating & cooling load calculations
  • Static pressure calculations
  • Hydraulic head pressure calculations
  • ETC
• Design, size & layout ductwork & piping distribution systems
• Size & select HVAC equipment to support overall design
• Perform site surveys
• Attend meetings with architects, contractors, owners & building managers
• Organize & maintain project records
• Support construction administration activities by reviewing submittals, shop drawings
• Prepare responses to RFI and provide input as needed
• Perform periodic field visits
• Other duties as required

• 8+ years of experience in buildings system designs in commercial, multi-family and/or hospitality areas
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relating field
• PROFICIENT IN USE OF:
  • AutoCAD
  • Revit
  • MS Office
• Strong Technical skills
• Ability to work with others and provide professional feedback as required
• Ability to work diligently to meet project deadlines
• PE License a PLUS, but NOT REQUIRED
