The Workforce Resilience and Prevention Institute (WRPI) is a new, grant‑funded initiative led by Catholic Health in partnership with Nassau County. Our mission is to improve the mental health, well‑being, and resilience of healthcare professionals across Nassau County, including those within Catholic Health and external organizations. WRPI is a Center of Excellence for wellness programming, trauma‑informed leadership, and post‑traumatic growth— serving as a regional hub for healing, learning, and collaboration.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a passionate and experienced Wellness & Resiliency Educator to design, deliver, and evaluate engaging educational programs focused on mental health, self‑care, resilience, and trauma‑informed care. The role works directly with Catholic Health employees as well as healthcare partners throughout Nassau County. Key Responsibilities Education & Training- Develop and facilitate workshops, seminars, and learning modules focused on:
- Stress reduction & burnout prevention
- Trauma‑informed care & post‑traumatic growth
- Mindfulness, coping skills, and peer support
- Substance use awareness & stigma reduction
- Deliver both in‑person and virtual trainings to staff, leaders, and external partners.
- Create toolkits, job aids, and educational materials to support engagement and implementation.
- Collaborate with Catholic Health departments (HR, Mission, Behavioral Health, Nursing) to support ongoing wellness and staff engagement efforts.
- Contribute to debriefings, wellness rounds, or coaching groups as needed.
- Assist in coordinating wellness events, retreats, and campaigns.
- Provide training and education related to substance use disorder prevention, early identification, and trauma‑informed approaches in clinical settings.
- Support social work teams embedded in emergency and primary care environments.
- Track participant feedback, program outcomes, and participation metrics.
- Assist in grant reporting and quality improvement activities.
- Contribute to strategic planning and future curriculum development.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree in public health, Social Work, Nursing, Education, Psychology, or a related field strongly preferred. - 3+ years of experience in wellness education, mental health training, clinical education, or workforce development.
- Strong group facilitation and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of trauma‑informed care, resilience science, or substance use prevention.
- Experience in healthcare or hospital systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to create inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments.
- Bilingual or multilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
- Experience working with high‑stress populations.
- Background in informed health education is a plus.
- Passion for building a culture of healing and sustainability in healthcare.
USD $80,000.00 – USD $80,000.00 /Yr. This range is a good‑faith estimate and will be adjusted based on qualifications, skills, and experience.
