Product Development Manager
Philadelphia Insurance Companies, a member of the Tokio Marine Group, designs, markets and underwrites commercial property/casualty and professional liability insurance products for select industries. We are looking to add a Product Development Manager to join our Compliance team and lead new and existing insurance product development projects for Property, General Liability, Auto, Inland Marine, Crime, Farm, Business owners and Professional Liability.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and complete product development projects, ensuring they are competitive, compliant, and aligned with company goals.
- Work with functional leaders in Actuarial, IT, Stat, Underwriting and Claims throughout the product development cycle.
- Oversee end‑to‑end product development process including execution and implementation of product enhancements and new products/programs.
- Prioritize product development projects.
- Manage product development staff by assigning projects and overseeing work efforts.
- Coordinate with other functional areas of the Compliance Department on regulatory matters that impact company independent forms and rules.
- Develop the talent and expertise of product development specialists.
- Ensure products meet regulatory requirements and adhere to internal company standards.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 10 years in Product Development within the P&C industry.
- Five years of Commercial and Professional Underwriting experience, or a strong understanding of P&C insurance products, underwriting principles and market trends.
- Management experience required.
- Knowledge of ISO forms, rates and rules, including bureau filings, adoption activities and system development.
- Familiarity with and ability to interpret rules and regulations outlined in compliance and commercial lines bulletins.
