Pizza Manager (Food Services)

Our gourmet store located in Melville is actively looking for an experienced full‑time Pizza Manager. Our Pizza Managers are responsible for directing the daily operations of the Pizza Department, ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operation, including product preparation and delivery.

• Responsible for managing our Pizza Department within our gourmet food market, following the policies and guidelines of our company
• Manages the day‑to‑day operations by managing staff schedules, staff training, pizza department inventory and ensuring that the department is following all safety codes
• Will make pizza, dough, and sides according to our gourmet recipes
• Fulfill pizza orders provided by in‑person customer visits, phone call orders and online orders
• Will utilize a cash register for customer checkout
• Other duties and functions as assigned

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 5 years of management experience within a pizzeria or restaurant setting
• 3-5 years of experience making pizza in a fast paced pizzeria or restaurant setting
• A food handlers license is preferred
• The ability to follow standardized recipes
• Able to deliver friendly, courteous and prompt customer service
• Basic knowledge of baking techniques and the pastry-making process
• Capable of working in a fast‑paced, production environment
• Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language
• Must know and understand all NYS, local and federal laws regarding food handling and sanitary conditions, adhering to our strict policies

Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping. May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance. Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard.

There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers. There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp objects or industrial equipment necessary to perform job duties and functions.
