Job SummaryThe Program Coordinator oversees all human resources, business, and financial operations for the Neuroscience Institute (NI). Responsibilities include budgeting, annual review reports to the College of Medicine and Tennessee Higher Education Commission, procurements, space and equipment inventory, institutional account management, contract authorization, grant disbursement oversight, seminar series coordination, website maintenance, and staff operations.
Responsibilities- Maintain and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Create budget and annual review reports for the College of Medicine and Tennessee Higher Education Commission.
- Initiate, review, and authorize contracts, procurements, charges, cost recovery items, monthly billing, reimbursement, and payroll.
- Oversee pilot grant, seed, support, and award disbursements and review annual reports from grant recipients.
- Oversee weekly seminar series, including guest travel, meetings, refreshments, and entertainment.
- Develop contracts, budgets, and documents for review and submission.
- Manage NI staff operations and human resource functions.
- Review and maintain website with current and informative updates on news, events, faculty changes, awards, grants, data, images, graphics, etc.
- Maintain annual space and equipment inventory processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred). Transcript required.
Experience: Two (2) years of work-related experience; OR Associate’s Degree and four (4) years related work experience; OR a combination of education and experience equal to six (6) years.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of general accounting and budgeting, purchasing and contracts, supervision, and writing and editing reports.
- Ability to make decisions with close attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Efficiency in project management and business skills to work with faculty, business managers, and staff.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office including Excel.
