About Our Client

Addison Group is partnering with our client to hire a Customs Specialist / Entry Writer. The company provides end-to-end import and export services, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and efficient movement of goods.

Job Description

The Customs Specialist / Entry Writer will manage import documentation and compliance processes to ensure timely and accurate customs clearance. This role requires strong knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate across multiple departments and agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and submit customs entries and supporting documentation for import shipments.
  • Classify goods under the correct tariff codes and determine applicable duties and taxes.
  • Communicate with carriers, customs officials, and clients to ensure clearance accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
  • Monitor and track shipments to prevent delays and compliance issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
  • Support logistics teams to ensure efficient coordination of international shipments.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in customs brokerage, entry writing, or trade compliance.
  • Strong understanding of import/export documentation and classification procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and customs systems (ACE, ABI, or similar).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or international business preferred.
  • Customs broker license or certification is a plus but not required.
