Job Description

Pre-school Teacher Needed

Shift: 8:00AM-4:00PM

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a young toddler class.
  • Plan with the Director and implement the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule using the Kid City curriculum outlines and materials.
  • Provide an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creativity.
  • Maintain necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common areas and playgrounds.
  • Provide verbal praises and acceptance while setting clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
  • Assist with snack, meal, naptime and bathroom activities.
  • Prepare Fun Plans (fun-based lesson plans) and creative activities, games and other indoor activities for the children daily.
  • Monitor and assess the children’s progress and development on an ongoing basis.
  • Prepare and discuss development reports with other teachers and parents.
  • Establish routines and disciplinary procedures, promote early education and literacy, teach proper hygiene and attend to basic needs such as dressing and feeding.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records, label and organize learning materials, and manage classroom supplies, equipment and materials.
Qualifications
  • Four years documented experience OR degree in Early Childhood or Child Development (preferred).
  • Minimum two years of experience in child care, early childhood, or child development (required).
  • Infant/Child First Aid & CPR certification required; the company will cover training expenses for the right candidate.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Screening in the Tennessee Criminal Background Registry.
  • Attendance at ongoing staff development and skill-building workshops.
