We are adding Superintendents to our Central division of Kiewit to support our growing Infrastructure project portfolio around the country. As a Superintendent for us, you will lead and supervise all aspects of self-performed construction for a variety of infrastructure projects that could include site prep for major highway infrastructure projects, bridge projects, rail/transit, aviation, water/wastewater and power. This team is the first construction team to the site, performing site prep for the roads, bridges or industrial buildings.
Our team performs mass grading/excavation, cut and fill, drainage, paving, underground piping and utility work, earthwork, site development, concrete form work, asphalt paving, and related activities.
In this role your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Perform daily inspections of work for Safety, Quality and Productivity. Assure proper planning and communication is happening for all operations that you oversee. Identify and solve problems that arise. Establish budgetary guidelines for the job and ensure that cost control measures are being followed. Provide job safety training and awareness for all personnel. Establish quality standards of all jobs and ensure that all quality assurance and company standards are being met.
Develop and manage job schedules (e.g. three-week, 90-day, man loading), coordinate work with other crafts, departments, contractors and suppliers.

Kiewit’s Central District is one of our largest infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, structural concrete/bridge, water/wastewater, and transportation projects. We self‑perform work such as mass grading, drainage, paving, utility and more - so be ready to get your hands dirty! While headquartered in Denver, Colorado, the majority of our work is concentrated in the Central and South‑Central regions of the United States.
We are looking for people committed to the construction industry rather than design.
This position will be based out of our Tennessee/Kentucky region, at our district office in Brentwood Tennessee, near Nashville, supporting projects in the region that may include working in TN, KY, NE, KS, and MS. We offer per diem while working on the projects. We offer relocation to the Tennessee area.
ResponsibilitiesSupervise the crew(s) and craft workers in the application of all projects. Set performance goals, deadlines and work plans for the crew.
Utilize equipment, material, and labor to maximize production and minimize costs in assigned responsibility.
Coordinate and interface effectively with superintendents, project engineers, field engineers and Foreman to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
