Job SummaryThis position reports directly to the Senior Graphic Designer under the Merchandising & Marketing Department. In this role, the Junior Graphic Designer supports the creative team by assisting in translating concepts into visually engaging designs from digital to traditional media. The Junior Graphic Designer’s role requires eagerness to grow skills, learn brand standards, and contribute creative innovation.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Senior Graphic Designer in creating visual assets for marketing, social media, web, email, and print.
- Prepare and adapt designs for multiple formats and platforms.
- Create informative and attractive chalkboard art to hang in retail stores.
- Produce high‑quality graphics, illustrations, layouts, and visual elements that adhere to brand guidelines and elevate our brand's visual presence.
- Work closely with the Marketing team to design compelling materials for campaigns, social media content, email marketing, and other promotional activities.
- Collaborate with copywriters to integrate text and visuals seamlessly, ensuring a cohesive and persuasive message.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely delivery of creative projects.
- Make revisions based on feedback from the Senior Graphic Designer and stakeholders.
- Maintain and update a library of brand assets and files.
- Organize and distribute digital collateral based on team needs.
- Get and approve budget quotes for print collateral as needed.
- Stay up to date with design trends, tools, and software and bring fresh ideas and innovative approaches to the team's creative process.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and creative discussions.
- This position requires 45–50 hours per week in our Memphis office and may require some weekend and evening availability.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to take direction and apply feedback effectively.
- Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Able to sit or stand at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
- Physically able to perform the job functions for 8–10‑hour workdays.
- Employees may be required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. unassisted, along with bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and other physical movements essential to daily tasks.
- Bachelor's in a related field preferred with 0–2 years’ experience in graphic design.
- Proficiency in graphic design software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, Illustrator, etc.).
- Portfolio to highlight creativity & versatility.
- Fundamental knowledge of the pet industry, pet nutrition, and retail operations.
- Experience with a Digital Asset Management platform.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to finding creative solutions.
