Job Description
The Department of Pathology e Children's Research Hospital is seeking a molecular pathologist at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Member level in the Division of Hematopathology and Molecular Pathology. The position is on the Clinical track, with up to 80% effort devoted to clinical service, and the remaining effort will be focused on translational research, assay development, and career advancement. Established focus in bioinformatics or computational pathology is strongly encouraged.
The ideal candidate will have multiple years of experience in molecular pathology case signout, including advanced NGS assays. Opportunities exist to lead a bioinformatics development team for experienced candidates.
This recruitment is taking place at an exciting time in the development of our Division of Hematopathology and Molecular Pathology. Following the success of the Pediatric Cancer Genome Project, the department developed a Clinical Genomics Laboratory in which whole genome, transcriptome, and exome sequencing are routinely performed and clinically reported. These approaches are now standard of care for nearly all patients e.
Methylation classification of pediatric brain and solid tumors, cfDNA diagnostics, and molecular monitoring strategies are also routine or in development.
- MD and/or PhD degree.
- Record of scholarly achievements.
- Board‑certified in AP or AP/CP, and board‑certified or eligible for board certification in Molecular Genetic Pathology.
- PhD‑level candidates with ABMGG board certification and fellowship training in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics are encouraged to apply.
