Summary Description

Ensures the efficient operation of the school cafeteria; supervises staff; orders foods and supplies; oversees food planning, preparation and service; supervises point‑of‑sale terminal operation and financial reporting, and performs related work as required. May provide food services for one or more satellite site/s and/or operates a cluster school/s or a high volume location. Ensures compliance with all applicable District and Board policies and procedures and State, Federal regulations.

Qualifications

Requires High School diploma or GED; two (2) years of experience in institutional food service and experience in food service supervision; must obtain Serv Safe certification or completion of the Tennessee Department of Education – Food Safety and Schools Certificate Program within one year. Upon successful completion of one year with Serv Safe certification incumbent promotes from trainee to Supervisor School Nutrition.

Proof of education, training, and/or experience is required.
