Job Description
The College of Nursing Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Department at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee is seeking a full‑time, non‑tenure track Assistant Professor. The role involves coordinating and teaching within the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program:
Psychiatric‑Mental Health Concentration. The UT Health Science Center embraces four missions: education, research, clinical care, and institutional service.
- Teaching both didactic coursework and experiential supervision of students.
- Providing education that includes service, leadership, scholarship, and practice/clinical care.
- Possibly teaching responsibilities outside the PMH DNP concentration.
- Conducting research/scholarship activities, clinical practice, and service responsibilities in collaboration with the Department Chair.
- Education: Doctoral Degree from an accredited university.
- Experience: Two or more years of substantive clinical practice expertise as an advanced practice nurse in psychiatric‑mental health nursing.
- Licenses: Certification/recertification as a Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse and advanced practice nurse in Tennessee, or eligibility to obtain licensure in Tennessee.
- Departmental Preferences: Prior clinical and didactic teaching experience, expertise in clinical teaching, engagement in professional organizations, evidence of scholarship including research and/or grants, and previous leadership experience (all highly desirable).
