Girl Scout Program Specialist

This position will ideally be based out of our Memphis office, the headquarters for Girl Scouts Heart of the South. The individual serving in this role will design develop and supervise the implementation of program delivery, creating community awareness and Girl Scout visibility through community involvement and engagement. We plan to begin conducting interviews immediately and hope to have this position filled as soon as qualified candidates are screened and able to begin employment with GSHS.

The Girl Scout Program Specialist must facilitate strong, relevant, well-executed outcomes-based programs that assist in membership extension, membership retention and developing girls’ leadership skills. This position will ideally be based out of our Memphis headquarters and will play a vital role in delivering high-quality programming that inspires girls to explore their passions, develop leadership skills, and reach their fullest potential.

The individual in this role will design and develop the implementation of Girl Scout program delivery, while building strong community awareness and visibility through meaningful engagement and partnerships. A special focus of this position will be on creating innovative and engaging experiences in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) that spark curiosity and confidence in girls of all ages.

As part of our Program structure, Program Team members will be assigned to specific council regions, working closely with Membership staff to support:

• Recruitment events and Service Unit meetings
• Pop-Up programs and localized training(s)
• Standing events and activities in our Possibility Place locations
• Cross-team collaboration with the Camp & Travel team, assisting as needed

The successful candidate will be a collaborative and flexible team player who thrives on bringing creative ideas to life, particularly those that highlight the value of STEAM education in building girls of courage, confidence, and character.

Develop, facilitate, coordinate, and assist in Girl Scout program implementation on the council and local level and in partnership with schools, churches, and other youth serving organizations for building character, developing skills, and growing girl leadership potential.

• Maintain current knowledge about troop activities, girl interests, and the needs of the un-served/underserved populations
• Assist in STEM based program for the council in the Possibility Place and in the community.
• Cultivate the development of program enrichment opportunities in designated areas.
• Increase knowledge, awareness, and support of Girl Scouting by participating in community activities and initiatives and by seeking out and involving groups and individuals who share our commitment to helping girls lead with courage, confidence, and character
• Must be willing to work some weekends and weeknights
• Perform other duties as assigned
