Adult ESL Instructor; Contracted

World Relief Memphis’ Connect Language Center provides quality, accessible English instruction to the immigrant community. Adult English learners build the language skills needed to succeed and thrive. We prioritize student placement in level‑appropriate classes and supply a curriculum with materials/resources to support instructors.

As a part‑time/contracted ESL instructor, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping adult non‑native speakers improve their English skills, which are crucial for navigating daily life and building a successful future in Memphis. Our students are dedicated, resilient, and motivated to learn!

Pay
:$30/instructional hour (contracted)

While we offer both morning and evening classes,
we currently have a high need for evening instructors
and strongly encourage applicants with evening availability to apply.

• Independently develop and deliver lesson plans aligned to goal‑oriented, student‑centered curriculum.
• Monitor students’ progress and participation with quality TESL assessment practices.
• Begin and end class on time.
• Maintain and submit class attendance of students enrolled in classes on a monthly basis.
• Maintain a monthly log of instructional hour and follow invoice reporting procedures to ensure timely compensation

• TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA certification
• Previous teaching experience with adult English language learners
• English proficiency at CEFR C1 level or higher
• Experience teaching literacy skills
