High School at the University of Memphis seeks to fill a supervising faculty position for grades 9th – 11th in Computer Science.
Position Overview
The role involves teaching Computer Science to high‑school students (grades 9‑11), supervising and coaching pre‑service education majors at the University of Memphis College of Education, and contributing to school improvement. The school has been designated a National Blue Ribbon School, a STEM school, and a Reward School by the Tennessee Department of Education.
Minimum Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred)
- Active Tennessee teaching license with endorsements in 9th‑11th, or elective course offering, or ability to obtain a TDOE permit
Responsibilities
- Instruct Computer Science courses for grades 9‑11
- Supervise, coach, and mentor pre‑service teachers
- Demonstrate excellence in teaching and commitment to inclusive education for all learners
- Participate in school improvement initiatives and assume a leadership role in the school
Salary & Benefits
- $50,000 – $80,000 per year
- Full‑time faculty position (10‑month appointment) with full benefits
