The School of Public Health (SPH) at the University of Memphis (UofM) is seeking to hire a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Teaching in the Division of Health Systems Management and Policy with an anticipated start date of Fall 2025. This position presents an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant academic community committed to advancing public health and health systems research, education, and community engagement.
A successful candidate is expected to take a lead role in teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, student advising, enhancing existing educational programs, continuing with their research program, and collaborating within the school, university, and with external partners.
Screening of applicants will begin immediately.
Duties and Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in healthcare planning and policy, leadership and organizational change in healthcare, health services management, human resources administration, and/or health information systems.
- Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the HSMP Division and the SPH.
- Desirable areas of research interest include but not limited to health policy, quality improvement, health informatics, and outcomes research.
- Serve on committees to further develop, support, and enhance the HSMP Division and the School of Public Health.
- Provide support to the Division and SPH by providing leadership in a service and/or administrative roles.
An earned doctoral degree in Health Policy, Healthcare Management, Public Health, Health Leadership, health informatics, or in a closely related field and experience commensurate with the academic rank of Assistant or Associate Professor
.
The successful candidate is expected to have demonstrated teaching ability, established research trajectory, and will be required to advise, mentor, and guide students to prepare them for the workforce.
