Position Details

Title: Adjunct Faculty Pool - Pharmacy Technician

Classification: Faculty

Department: Pharmacy Technology

Location: Multiple Campus Locations, Southwest Tennessee Community College

Job Type: Part-time, Adjunct Faculty (positions are not guaranteed and are reviewed on a continuous basis. Future assignments are on a term-by-term basis. Applications close annually on January 31.)

Application Requirements

Applicants should be prepared to upload a cover letter, resume/CV, references, a statement of teaching philosophy, and an unofficial transcript. Re-application is necessary each year to remain active.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver instruction in classroom and clinical settings on Pharmacy Technology topics.
  • Assess and grade student work promptly and fairly, providing feedback on progress.
  • Develop curricula, syllabi, and instructional materials.
  • Maintain office hours, assist with student recruitment, and support student success outside of class.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance and grades in compliance with FERPA.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and college activities.
  • Stay current with developments in the field and participate in professional organizations.
  • Contribute to departmental and college committees and community outreach.
  • Implement effective assessment methods and ensure safety protocols.
  • Prepare and develop classroom and lab environments conducive to learning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Head or Dean.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician with an Associate Degree or higher; actively pursuing an Associate’s Degree or state teaching credential.
  • Licensed Pharmacist.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Proficiency in relevant content areas and effective teaching skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Student-centered approach and willingness to incorporate hands-on experiences.
  • High integrity and professionalism.
  • Compliance with state licensure or registration regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of current teaching strategies and student engagement techniques.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, TEAMS, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to integrate technology and adapt instructional methods.
  • Effective written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to teach at various locations and using diverse methods.
