SY 2025‑2026 Elective Teacher – Gestalt Community Schools

Gestalt Community Schools is a system of K‑12 college‑preparatory charter schools located in targeted Tennessee communities. Our schools provide strong academic outcomes through initiatives that include meaningful community involvement. This position serves students in Grades 3 through 5, delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate instruction in an elective subject area such as art, music, STEM, physical education, or other.

• Design weekly lesson plans and develop standards‑based assessments.
• Create intervention plans to meet scholars' needs.
• Integrate technology effectively in the classroom and implement project‑based learning.
• Teach scholars a common‑core‑based curriculum.
• Motivate scholars toward achievement.
• Meet with parents regarding performance and conduct.
• Develop scholar improvement plans.
• Collaborate with special educators in a co‑teaching model for students with IEP plans.
• Work plan with school and network teams.
• Attend weekly required professional development training.
• Create and review student assessments.
• Tutor students and perform other duties as assigned.

• Hold a current TN teaching license in Elementary Education with endorsement code 120 (Required).
• Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Proven track record of academic success as evidenced in TVAAS, state assessments, and VAP data (Preferred).
• Believe that all students can learn at high academic levels.
• Use digital content, technology integration, and project‑based learning proficiently.
• Plan and deliver high‑quality instruction in an elective subject to students in Grades 3–5.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
• Collaborate with grade‑level and specialty teachers to support interdisciplinary learning where appropriate.
• Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students and families.
• Maintain classroom management in line with school policies.
• Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and professional development as required.
• Foster creativity, curiosity, and a love of learning while supporting the school's mission and values.
