Openings Include: ESL/ELL Educators
Responsibilities- ESL/ELL teachers are responsible for providing excellent instruction to all students, including those requiring ELL services. They are also responsible for facilitating all supports for our ELLs, including collaborating with our general education teachers. They will actively participate in professional development and form strong relationships with both students and families.
- Instruct ELL students with purpose, clarity, and urgency.
- Coordinate services among internal and external providers.
- Carefully monitor student progress to ensure that student needs are being met.
- Help to establish and communicate policies and operating procedures for English Language Learners programs and activities.
- Manage the screening and assessment of ELL students.
- Carefully monitor and manage matters on compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Identify and spread best practices for ELL instruction, including promising practices from within and outside of Leadership Prep.
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, school leaders, and teachers.
- Design and implement rigorous assessments aligned to academic targets. Provide engaging, differentiated, appropriately paced, and rigorous instruction in whole-class, small-group, and individual settings.
- Establish and maintain a culture of achievement in their classroom; uphold school-wide and class systems, rules and consequences, disciplinary codes, and rewards.
- Analyze student achievement data collaboratively with colleagues and academic coaches to respond critically and strategically to students’ learning needs.
- Implement the school’s data tracking system and use data to inform instructional development and delivery.
- Participate in additional activities, including field trips, intensive academic support sessions, and other required programs as needed throughout the year.

- Education:
B.A. or B.S. degree required. Valid Tennessee or equivalent teaching license required.
