Interim 1st grade Teacher

Christ Methodist Day School seeks an Interim 1st Grade Teacher beginning in mid-April 2026. The interim must be passionate about teaching and fostering excitement in elementary students. He or she should be willing to try new things, embrace new technology and curriculum, while also adhering to the many traditions that CMDS holds dear. An understanding of assessing children, as well as a knowledge of a standards‑based grading scale, is beneficial.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in education or a related field;
• prior teaching experience;
• the ability to be an active participant on the grade‑level teaching team;
• understanding of and the ability to teach math and literacy skills using a multi‑sensory and small group approach;
• bringing fresh ideas to the project‑oriented curriculum;
• an understanding of and familiarity with a balanced approach to technology;
• and a genuine love of children’s education.
