Salary: $55,000.00 – $78,000.00 (competitive, based on experience, degree, and credentials). Benefits are also offered.

Job DescriptionReporting to the Principal, KIPP teachers deliver effective, rigorous instruction that produces unmatched results and student understanding. Teachers promote a college-preparatory culture and support students on their journey to and through college. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
- Plan a program of study and unit/weekly/daily lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum that meets students’ individual needs, interests, and abilities.
- Create a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with best practices and the needs of individual or grouped students.
- Implement the region’s philosophy of education, the KIPP Memphis curriculum, and instructional goals and objectives.
- Use diagnostic assessment tools to identify learning strengths and needs for intervention or acceleration toward academic and leadership standards.
- Take precautions to ensure safety in the classroom and school for all students.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
- Assist the administrative team in implementing policies governing student life and conduct.
- Be available to students and parents for educationოდეს related purposes outside of instructional time when required or requested under reasonable terms.
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues.
- Actively engage in professional development opportunities.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Active Tennessee state licensure and certification with endorsement matching subject area & grade band.
- Commitment to working with educationally underserved students.
- Commitment to the design and development of the school.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least two years of teaching experience.
- Master’s degree in Education, Teaching, or Content Area.
- Experience/strength in content area / Highly Qualified status.
- Experience teaching in an urban school and/or charter network.
- Prolonged periods of standing and actively monitoring student behavior while teaching.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to traverse classroom and adjust height, by bending or leaning, to teach each child.
- Must be able to facilitate classroom transitions by walking through hallways and up and down stairs with students.
