Job Description:Recruiting and Roster Building:
- Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes who fit CBU academically, athletically, and in character.
- Communicate with prospects, families, and high school and club coaches by phone, email, and campus visits.
- Attend high school and club meets to evaluate prospects, as assigned.
- Help meet roster and retention targets set by the head coach and the Director of Athletics.
Compliance and Student-Athlete Welfare:
- Know and follow NCAA Division II, Gulf South Conference, and university rules, and promptly report any potential violation.
- Complete required NCAA recruiting certification and all university training, including Title IX and safety training.
- Keep accurate records of practice hours, recruiting contacts, and other required logs.
- Maintain a safe, respectful training environment and uphold the student-athlete code of conduct.
Operations and Administration:
- Assist with meet entries, travel logistics, equipment inventory, and facility setup.
- Help host home meets and department events.
- Support team fundraising, alumni outreach, and community service projects.
- Attend staff meetings and perform other duties assigned by the head coach or the Director of Athletics.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Coaching or competitive experience in track & field at the collegiate, club or high school level.
- Working knowledge of technique and training principles in at least one event group.
- Ability to pass the NCAA Division II coaches recruiting certification.
- Current CPR, AED and first aid certification, or ability to obtain it upon hire.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet university requirements for driving team vehicles.
- Successful completion of a background check.
- Availability for early morning or afternoon practices, weekend meets and overnight travel.
