SEMS, Inc, a multidiscipline environmental and engineering consulting firm, is looking for an assertive and talented individual to help in the expansion of Remediation/Groundwater Services in the Gulf Coast market. A proven technical background in multiple facets of environmental compliance and project management is required. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, is versatile, has a service mentality, and is skilled in oral and written communication.
Responsibilities- Lead field activities for soil and groundwater assessment to identify contamination impact and related concerns, drilling oversight, soil logging, monitoring well installation well development, purging and sampling, and aquifer testing
- Remediation oversight
- Assist in data interpretation
- Design, implement and manage various soil and groundwater investigations and remedial projects
- Complete routine groundwater monitoring reports
- Project management experience including project scoping and budget management
- Bachelor or Masters' degree in Geology or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the environmental compliance field with an emphasis on groundwater, site assessment, and remediation
- Professional registration (P.G.) or professional engineer (P.E.)
- Working knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations, specifically pertaining to solid and hazardous waste, groundwater and site assessments
- Able to pass a physical including respirator fit testing and pulmonary function test
- Able to work a flexible schedule, potentially including after hours and weekends
- Valid United States Driver's License
- Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing
- Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office software
- Attention to detail and quality control/quality assurance programs
- 40-hour HAZWOPER Certified
- Basic Safety Plus 8 hours Certified
- Experience with business development and soliciting new and existing clients
- Experience with remediation design and implementation
- Experience working/negotiating with environmental regulator
Job Type: Full-time
Pay:
Up to $95,000.00 per year
