Industrial Engineer - Memphis, TN

Position Summary:

The Industrial Engineer will drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across the Memphis manufacturing and refurbishment operation supporting major OEM customers including Dell and ADT. This role focuses on analyzing complex workflows, optimizing material and labor efficiency, and developing data‑driven solutions that improve safety, quality, and throughput. The engineer will lead Lean Six Sigma initiatives, implement structured problem‑solving methodologies, and support capital justification projects to scale capacity and reduce cost per unit.

• Lead and facilitate Value Stream Mapping (VSM) sessions to identify bottlenecks, waste, and improvement opportunities across production, teardown, test, and logistics workflows.
• Apply the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) methodology to execute and sustain process improvements tied to measurable KPIs.
• Conduct time studies, line balancing, and capacity modeling to optimize labor utilization, equipment efficiency, and space allocation.
• Develop and maintain factory layout drawings, process flow charts, and value stream maps to visualize and improve operational flow.
• Design and sustain standard work and visual management systems (5S/6S) that reinforce safety, quality, and accountability.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to define process capability, improve yield, and reduce defects.
• Lead Lean Six Sigma projects focused on cost reduction, throughput gains, and operational scalability.
• Support capital justification through ROI modeling and scenario analysis for automation, test capacity expansion, and facility optimization.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, and control plans.
• Champion a continuous improvement culture through data transparency, KPI dashboards, and hands‑on floor engagement (Gemba).

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• 4–7 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or process engineering (electronics, repair, or logistics experience preferred).
• Proven proficiency in capacity modeling, layout optimization, and flow charting (AutoCAD, Visio, or equivalent tools required).
• Demonstrated experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and VSM/PDCA methodologies.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required;
  Black Belt certification preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret large datasets and visualize trends using Excel, Power BI, or equivalent tools.
• Excellent project management, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to lead structured problem‑solving activities (8D, DMAIC, or A3 formats).

• Exposure to MES/WMS or ERP integration (e.g., PLUS, FiCore, MSS).
• Experience in repair/refurbishment, distribution, or electronics manufacturing environments.
• Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Black Belt, or Industrial Ergonomics.
