Senior Drainage Engineer (Memphis, TN)
Fisher Arnold is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer for its Memphis, TN office.
As the Senior Drainage Engineer, you will perform hydrologic and hydraulic engineering tasks related to stormwater design and analysis across a diverse range of projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform hydrologic/hydraulic analysis for various stormwater studies, including floodplain/floodway modeling and mapping, flood risk assessment, and mixed regime conveyance system analyses.
- Conduct hydrologic/hydraulic analysis for design and construction plan production for site development, stormwater infrastructure improvements, transportation, and related projects.
- Design drainage systems such as stormwater conveyance systems, detention/retention facilities, water quality systems, open channel improvements, grade control structures, bridge scour protection, and channel bank stabilization.
- Coordinate design team efforts to ensure completeness and accuracy of stormwater design work.
- Develop technical reports and specifications for drainage-related construction design and analyses.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Active Tennessee P.E. license or ability to obtain via reciprocity.
- Minimum five years of independent, responsible experience in detailed hydrologic/hydraulic computations, analyses, studies and design related to stormwater, including report preparation.
- Proficiency in HEC-HMS, HEC‑RAS, SWMM, GIS, and Autodesk Civil3D CAD.
- Experience with additional hydrologic/hydraulic software/programs such as Civil3D SSA, Open Flow, or similar.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
