Position: Test & Controls Technician (Weekend Shift)

HVAC Test & Controls Technician (Weekend Shift: Friday–Sunday) Overview

We’re looking for HVAC Test Technicians and HVAC Controls Technicians who want a weekend‑only schedule while still working on high‑impact, hands‑on technical projects. This Friday–Sunday role is ideal for candidates who prefer condensed workweeks, value focused shifts, and enjoy troubleshooting and testing HVAC and control systems in a collaborative manufacturing environment.

You’ll support our Test Engineering team by helping develop, validate, and maintain test solutions used for HVAC equipment, low‑voltage controls, and integrated electrical systems. Your experience with HVAC troubleshooting, sensors, actuators, and control logic will be essential to ensuring our products perform reliably in the field.

Key Responsibilities Test Development & Execution
  • Support Test Engineers in developing and commissioning new test solutions for HVAC and control‑based products.
  • Perform qualification testing on fixtures, programs, and systems following established processes.
  • Assist in building and maintaining test fixtures, environmental setups, and specialized HVAC test equipment.
Weekend Production Support
  • Serve as a primary test resource during Friday–Sunday production operations.
  • Provide documentation and hands‑on training to Test Support and Manufacturing teams for all implemented test processes.
  • Coordinate test readiness with weekend production schedules and ensure timely support for manufacturing needs.
Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor and improve test yields, uptime, intermittencies, and overall efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize test coverage, reduce cost, and enhance reliability.
  • Contribute to data gathering, DOE activities, and root‑cause investigations for recurring issues.
Essential

Skills & Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s or associate degree in an engineering‑related field with relevant HVAC, controls, or electrical testing experience.
  • 1–2 years of electrical, electronic, HVAC, or controls testing experience, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • Strong low‑voltage electrical skills, including testing, troubleshooting, and debugging.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, HVAC control schematics, and system layouts.
  • Familiarity with test scripts and the ability to make basic modifications.
  • Understanding of software/hardware integration, building automation systems, or embedded controls.
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office.
  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, or C# is a plus.
Additional

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with HVAC control systems, sensors, actuators, VFDs, or BAS platforms.
  • Exposure to switch gear or power distribution equipment.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $28.00/hr.
