Designs and conducts experiments in collaboration with faculty, evaluates the progress of ongoing research activities, and provides recommendations on project design, tests protocols, experimental methods, and data analysis. Plays a key role in advancing technologies that improve care for pediatric patients with complex heart conditions. Designs and conducts experiments in collaboration with faculty, evaluates ongoing research, and provides recommendations on project design, tests protocols, experimental methods, and data analysis. • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support research and development of diagnostic and therapeutic devices, including building and testing prototypes and managing clinical studies.
• Supervise and mentor engineering students (undergraduate and graduate) in research projects.
• Identify and pursue funding opportunities, prepare and submit grants, abstracts, and manuscripts.
• Present scientific findings at conferences.
• Create figures and slides to communicate research outcomes.
• Assist in patent disclosures and drafting provisional patents.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required
• Master's Degree in Engineering preferred
• Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering preferred

• 1-3 years relevant work or leadership experience required
• Experience in prototype design and CAD software required
• Experience in technical writing, grant writing, and manuscript preparation preferred
• Experience in embedded coding preferred
• Expertise in 3D printing and related technologies preferred

• Knowledge of sensors and related technologies
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or MATLAB
• Passion for developing innovative technologies for infants and children
• Skilled in laboratory equipment use
• Ability to analyze data and develop solutions
• Project management skills
• Strong written communication skills

• Guidance and mentorship to engineering students

• Must have good balance and coordination
• Physical exertion up to 25 lbs. occasionally and 10 lbs. frequently
• Requires good visual acuity for data analysis and reading
• Typically performed under normal office conditions
