What you will do- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support research and development of diagnostic and therapeutic devices, including building and testing prototypes and managing clinical studies.
- Supervise and mentor engineering students (undergraduate and graduate) in research projects.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities, prepare and submit grants, abstracts, and manuscripts.
- Present scientific findings at conferences.
- Create figures and slides to communicate research outcomes.
- Assist in patent disclosures and drafting provisional patents.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required
- Master's Degree in Engineering preferred
- Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering preferred
- 1-3 years relevant work or leadership experience required
- Experience in prototype design and CAD software required
- Experience in technical writing, grant writing, and manuscript preparation preferred
- Experience in embedded coding preferred
- Expertise in 3D printing and related technologies preferred
- Knowledge of sensors and related technologies
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or MATLAB
- Passion for developing innovative technologies for infants and children
- Skilled in laboratory equipment use
- Ability to analyze data and develop solutions
- Project management skills
- Strong written communication skills
- Guidance and mentorship to engineering students
- Must have good balance and coordination
- Physical exertion up to 25 lbs. occasionally and 10 lbs. frequently
- Requires good visual acuity for data analysis and reading
- Typically performed under normal office conditions
