Industrial Engineer – Fed Ex

We are looking for an Industrial Engineer to implement manpower, systems, and corporate projects that reduce operating expenses, increase revenues, and improve customer service.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Participating in the development and implementation of operating plans, conducting studies, preparing data, and developing models and analytical tools for engineers and operations.
  • Transforming business processes and operational tools to enable global excellence.
  • Preparing, analyzing, and monitoring short‑term and long‑range plans.
  • Providing analysis regarding operations, expansion, procedures, GSE, staffing, equipment, regulatory and governmental agencies, vehicles, and products for operations.
  • Ensuring suppliers and hired professional services comply with policies, procedures, and governing authorities.
  • Ensuring all documentation complies with Fed Ex requirements and processes.
  • Monitoring, analyzing, and recommending ways to improve productivity, service, and cost performance.
  • Serving on special study teams established to investigate and implement projects related to productivity and performance.
  • Supporting engineering projects and studies at the direction of engineering management.
  • Researching, evaluating, and recommending emerging technologies, business and management techniques, philosophies, and methodologies.
  • Participating in and supporting projects and studies in support of objectives.
  • Providing planning and organization of task assignments, priorities, schedules, and activities for initiatives as required by the size, complexity, and urgency.
  • Providing project plans, communication plans, and project status to stakeholders.
  • Providing requirement specifications, solution design, system development and testing, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Participating in studies designed to implement sound, innovative engineering concepts into operations, systems, and customer solutions to produce benefits for Fed Ex and its customers.
  • Participating in the evaluation of capital and expense requests.
  • Providing input for the annual and long‑range budget processes.
  • Developing project and operational budgets based on recommendations for cost savings.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and reporting financial and operational indicators for corporate initiatives.
  • Preparing and presenting business justifications in support of the funding approval process.
  • Providing technical training to personnel through workshops, seminars, on‑the‑job training sessions, and one‑on‑one sessions in areas such as operations, manning, contingency planning, productivity, and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Communicating between operations and corporate departments to provide technical and local expertise related to corporate or department initiatives and operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related field.

Minimum Experience

Two (2) years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong engineering and analytical skills.
  • Strong systems and computer knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to create operating and budgetary plans and implement.
  • Knowledge to create business and operational tools.
  • Ability to develop models for engineers and operations.
Project Management Skills

Required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Vendor Management, Maintenance Operation, FAA compliance, ROM Updates, Safety Risk Assessment, ULD Capital Procurement.
Pay Transparency

Pay: $80,050.00 – $ (Full‑time)
