We are mandated with a well-established Chemical Manufacturer in the hiring a Director of Manufacturing to lead pilot plant operations within its global product technology organization. In this role, you’ll be the critical link between laboratory innovation and full-scale commercial manufacturing. You’ll own the safe, disciplined scale-up of new chemistry and build the team that makes it happen.
What you’ll do- Lead day-to-day pilot plant operations with an uncompromising focus on safety, reliability and operational excellence
- Direct process engineering work, including mass and energy balances, equipment sizing and process optimization
- Drive technology transfer of new products and processes into the company’s production facilities
- Oversee production campaigns, trials, maintenance programs and capital projects
- Maintain process documentation, P&IDs, operating procedures and cost estimates for new product projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, Process Safety Management (PSM) and environmental regulations
- Lead PHAs, MOCs, PSSRs and incident investigations
- Recruit, develop and lead a team of engineers, technicians and manufacturing professionals
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
- 10+ years managing across Chemical Manufacturing
- Proven process engineering and scale-up experience
- 5+ years leading technical and operations teams
- Deep knowledge of process safety and hazard analysis
- Working knowledge of FIFRA, TSCA and RCRA
- An executive-level leadership seat inside the company’s innovation organization
- Real ownership across safety, operations, capital projects, budgets and team performance
- A collaborative environment working alongside R&D scientists, plant teams, engineering, EHS and business leaders
