Our well known client is adding an experienced Credit Officer to partner directly with the Chief Credit Officer during a critical phase of growth. This role is central to the bank’s initiative to centralize underwriting and credit administration
, improving efficiency, consistency, and portfolio quality.

This is not a “policy-only” role. The Credit Officer will remain hands‑on in underwriting
, while also helping shape credit processes, mentor future analysts, and serve as the long‑term second‑in‑command within credit.

Why This Role Stands Out
  • Direct daily partnership with the Chief Credit Officer
  • High visibility with senior leadership
  • Meaningful influence over credit policy and portfolio quality
  • Long‑term runway toward department leadership
  • True community bank credit work — not transactional data entry
Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite and approve commercial and consumer loan requests
  • Support lenders with structure, risk analysis, and credit recommendations
  • Coordinate and participate in annual loan reviews
  • Ensure compliance with credit policy and regulatory standards
  • Monitor portfolio quality and assist with internal/external examinations
  • Prepare portfolio and credit reports for leadership and stakeholders
  • Help develop and scale a centralized underwriting model
Ideal Background
  • 7–10+ years of credit / underwriting experience
  • Prior community banking experience strongly preferred
  • Strong ability to analyze financials and write narrative credit memos
  • Experience training or mentoring analysts is a plus
  • Comfortable working fully in‑office within the local market
Long‑Term Outlook

This role is viewed as a long‑term leadership solution
, with the opportunity to:

  • Train and manage analysts
  • Take ownership of audits and board‑level reporting
  • Ultimately assume broader leadership within credit administration
