JOB SUMMARYThe ideal candidate will be a self-starter and able to work independently with minimum supervision on a wide spectrum of short‑term and long‑term financial projects. The position reports directly to the Controller and has exposure to all the Senior VP – Executives, including the President and CEO of the Bank. The primary purpose of the Senior Financial Analyst is to work closely with the CFO in the development of both short‑term and long‑range financial issues, forecasts, budgets, and strategic studies.
PRIMARYDUTIES
- Responsible for planning, communicating and consolidating the Annual Operating Budget for the Bank which includes preparing the budget calendar, preparation and consolidation of the financial budget, and preparing Board presentation materials. Also, aid the departments in the formulation of their individual budgets.
- Preparation of the Quarterly ALCO analysis and presentation to the Bank’s ALCO Committee. This includes working with the outside consultants to generate the ALCO model, and preparation of Board presentations relating to Interest Rate Risk, Liquidity and Capital.
- Preparation of the Quarterly Contribution by Line of Business report.
- Responsible for being the corporate financial contact for the Bank’s Factoring and Mortgage Lending lines of Business.
- Work closely with the CFO and the Sr Executives on quantifying the financial impact, including likely returns on investments, and payback period for proposed capital expenditures/acquisitions, new products or other investments.
- Conduct analyses and research in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return, and Banks capital structure.
- Coordinate with external funding sources (FHLB/FRB/Fed Funds) on any quarterly filings or audits to ensure the Bank maintains/increases its lines of credit with these organizations.
- Prepare forecasts and analyze trends in business units.
- For assigned projects; prepare detail of work plan and schedule, complete detailed analysis and research, identify options, prepare reports for management and recommend action or change.
- Assist in the development of business policies and performance measures.
- Conduct special financial and business-related studies as requested.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or another related field. (CPA/MBA a plus but not required)
- 5-7 years of related experience.
- Banking experience a plus but not required.
- Excellent analytical, organization and oral and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills
- Skilled in applicable computer software, e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
