Pharmacist-Clinical Staff Hospital role at Baptist Memorial Health Care

Job Summary

Provides age-specific pharmaceutical care and basic clinical services for assigned patient care areas. Contributes to goals, programs, quality assurance, process improvement, and other activities for the unit/department/hospital. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Manages medication orders with age-specific considerations to ensure safety (processing, preparation, and dispensing).
  • Participates in pharmacotherapeutic plan processes.
  • Manages own pharmacy practice effectively.
  • Supervises and directs healthcare team members.
  • Processes and prepares sterile products for dispensing.
  • Contributes to goals, programs, and performance reports for the unit/department/hospital.
  • Provides drug information.
  • Provides education to staff and patients.
  • Participates actively on inter- and intra-departmental committees.
  • Maximizes safety and efficiency through appropriate use of automation.
  • Completes assigned goals.
Experience
  • One year of hospital pharmacy experience.
Education
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.

    D.).
Preferred/Desired Qualifications
  • BLS and/or ACLS certification, advanced post‑graduate training, or equivalent clinical experience.
  • Advanced computer order entry literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • High-level clinical experience and cognitive ability to interpret medication orders and reference materials.
Special Skills
  • Computer literacy, interpersonal skills, general clinical awareness.
  • Basic computer literacy and communication skills; accuracy and attention to detail.
Licensure
  • Current, active, unrestricted pharmacy licensure in the appropriate state, or eligibility for licensure. Must acquire licensure within 120 days of hire date.
  • PHARMACIST – FOR APPROPRIATE STATE.
