Radiology Student, Senior at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare
A Brief OverviewThe Radiology Student, Senior is responsible for operating imaging equipment to perform procedures for a specified patient population under the supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What You Will Do- Perform quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods under the supervision of a registered radiologic technologist.
- Responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.
- Effectively manage resources such as supplies and equipment. Plan work and complete job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner.
- Demonstrate professional work behavior and excellent customer service routinely in all interactions.
- Perform other job functions as assigned or requested.
- Currently enrolled in a college program in Radiology.
- No prior work experience.
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT – American Heart Association.
Skills and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of radiographic equipment and imaging procedures.
- Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers.
- Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred).
- There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job.
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- Physical requirements:
medium work – exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs of force frequently. - Require close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform activities such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, or extensive reading.
- Frequent invasive and non‑invasive patient contact.
- Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
