Job Description
The Senior Pathology Clinical Informaticist role will implement, optimize, and support pathology informatics systems and technologies. This position independently analyzes pathology workflows to identify system needs, drives improvements through evaluation and training, and contributes to the development of policies and procedures to ensure system reliability and compliance. Through these efforts, this role advances the integration of data and technology to enhance diagnostic quality, operational performance, and clinician effectiveness across the pathology domain.
The Pathology Clinical Informaticist role will support the utilization, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of pathology informatics systems and technology to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. This position participates in workflow analysis, change management, and system improvement efforts within the pathology domain to address user needs and enhance data integration.

Position will work primarily on- site and rotate on-call after hours, weekends, and holidays.
Experience with Data Innovations Instrument Manager and EPIC Beaker is highly preferred.
Senior Pathology Clinical InformaticistJob Responsibilities
- Conduct implementation, effective utilization, and ongoing support of clinical systems and technology for the provision of effective and safe patient care within domain area.
- Independently conduct analysis of clinical workflows within domain area to identify information system needs and issues.
- Engage in evaluation, selection, and acquisition of clinical systems and technology to meet needs within domain area.
- Contribute to change management and training efforts for effective implementation and user adoption of new clinical systems and technology within respective domain.
- Engage in development, implementation, and monitoring of policies and procedures to address maintenance needs of clinical systems and technology.
- Maintain knowledge of trends and advances in the field of health informatics and respective regulatory domain to facilitate effective integration of data and information to support healthcare providers and patients in their decision-making.
- Lead assigned improvement projects activities within respective domain:
Provide content expertise on assigned committees around clinical systems and technology to maintain patient safety and clinician support. - Work across domain functions of a specific clinical systems and technology. May perform field work in selected clinical domain.
- Coordinate prioritization of clinical system and technology needs. Serve as a resource for clinicians on clinical systems and technology as well as patient care processes to promote optimal care, reduce errors, and achieve system goals.
- Engage in foundational scholarly activities (e.g., assisting with literature reviews and data collection for projects on clinical workflow improvements); participates in introductory teaching activities for students and/or fellows.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- BS in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science or sciences with lab training required;
Master's preferred.
- 4+ years of relevant domain experience.
- 2+ years with applications, information systems, and/or informatics solutions.
- Experience with cross-functional clinical teams to address informatics needs/issues.
- Experience guiding technology teams on system design aligned to workflow.
- Proven performance in earlier/comparable role.
