Since 1969, Lakeside has been the premier provider of specialized behavioral health and addictive disease services in the Memphis and Mid-South region. The 365-bed facility is one of the largest free-standing psychiatric hospitals in the United States. We are located on a serene 37-acre campus in northeast Shelby County, serving as the setting for the treatment of children, adolescents, young adults, adults and seniors.
Lakeside’s comprehensive programs treat disorders such as bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression and anxiety, mental illness and addictive disease disorders such as alcoholism, drug addiction and substance abuse.
The Therapist provides clinical social work services in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health. The Therapist is responsible for psychosocial assessments, individual, group and family therapy, participation in treatment team planning, processing commitments, and discharge planning/case management service, crisis intervention and liaison services with referral sources and other departments within the hospital.

Job Specifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including adults and dually diagnosed patients in an inpatient and partial hospital setting.
Education:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical/Counseling Psychology or Social Services related field required, licensure required.
Experience: Prior experience working with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an outpatient setting.
Licensure/Certification: TN LCSW or LPC required.
Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of case management, discharge planning, group leadership skills, age specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management, family therapy theory and practice. Substance abuse experience highly preferred.
Supervision Received: Director of Social Services, Program Directors, Program Coordinators
