Rad Tech | Nights | North

We’re looking for a compassionate and technically proficient Rad Tech II to join our Radiology team at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. You will operate imaging equipment to perform procedures for a specified patient population, modeling the mission, vision and values of our organization.

• Perform quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods. Determine technical and positioning factors to obtain quality images and shield patients in order to minimize radiation exposure and maintain ALARA guidelines where applicable.
• Make patient care related judgments and implement appropriate actions within legal, professional and ethical standards.
• Explain procedures to patient and answer questions or concerns.
• Observe patient for distress or difficulty and report such incidents to appropriate staff.
• Assist in the development of others through guidance and teaching. Promote professional practice of all members of the radiological services team.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.
• Effectively manage resources such as supplies and equipment. Plan work and complete job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner.
• Demonstrate professional work behavior and excellent customer service routinely in all interactions.
• Perform other job functions as assigned or requested.

• Technical Degree or Diploma in Radiology.

• 1–3 years as a Rad Tech.

• Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers.
• Demonstrated clinical competencies in radiography imaging equipment and procedures.
• Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred).

• BASIC LIFE SUPPORT – American Heart Association.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

• There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job, except that the incumbent may occasionally demonstrate various job responsibilities to other Associate Technologists and instruct student technologists.

• The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
• Must have good balance and coordination.
• Medium work – exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
• Requires close visual acuity, including color, depth perception, and field of vision for tasks such as assessing patients and analyzing data.
• Frequent invasive and non‑invasive patient contact.
• Exposure to patient body fluids as well as hazardous or poisonous materials.
• Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
