As a senior-level data platform leader, you will drive the design and evolution of a next-generation data ecosystem within a highly regulated environment. The individual will serve as both a technical authority and a guiding force for multiple data engineering groups, balancing architectural vision with practical implementation.

Key Responsibilities- Partner with cross-functional technology teams to define and construct a robust, enterprise-scale data foundation that supports analytic, operational, and real-time enterprise utilization.
- Develop and oversee highly resilient data processing workflows optimized for scalability, performance, and security within an expanding AWS environment.
- Own the lifecycle of a modern data architecture encompassing: multi-source data integrations, development of transformation and enrichment frameworks, and delivery of mechanisms such as streaming platforms and service-based access layers.
- Ensure data platform alignment with technical design standards and long‑term architectural strategies through close collaboration with enterprise architecture functions.
- Guide and elevate engineering teams through technical leadership, knowledge sharing, and adoption of forward‑looking design methodologies.
- Embed and maintain governance controls, compliance mechanisms, and security safeguards in accordance with industry best practices and applicable regulatory controls.
- Translate business objectives into technical solutions by engaging directly with non‑technical stakeholders and strategic partners.
- Continuously evaluate new tools, methodologies, and cloud advancements to refine and future‑proof platform capabilities.
- Advanced command of modern development and query languages for large‑scale data environments.
- Demonstrated mastery of data services and ecosystems with emphasis on AWS capabilities including but not limited to object storage, analytics engines, serverless compute, orchestration frameworks, and real‑time processing tools.
- Extensive experience delivering enterprise data solutions within cloud infrastructures, particularly in environments requiring high reliability and strict governance.
- Deep familiarity with both structured and distributed data architectures including relational database systems and large‑scale processing frameworks.
- Strong practical understanding of data transformation methodologies, workflow automation, and data pipeline optimization.
- Proven ability to integrate heterogeneous data sources while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and reliability across datasets.
- Experience implementing and managing workflow orchestration systems and event‑based automation platforms.
- Expertise in infrastructure automation and deployment practices including source control management and CI/CD methodologies.
- Demonstrated strength in diagnosing complex data platform challenges and applying structured problem‑solving approaches.
- Solid foundation in data governance principles, privacy compliance, and security practices with experience enforcing controls within production systems.
- Track record of technical mentorship, continuous improvement mindset, and fostering innovation across teams.

Up to 20% - Target Compensation Range: $200,000 - $250,000

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
