Field Technician

Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Field Technician for our client, a growing IT Services company. This is a long-term contract position based onsite in Memphis (38103).

You will be a vital part of the team, handling hardware installations, network patching, and on‑site troubleshooting. This position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced technicians to work independently in dynamic environments, gaining exposure to enterprise‑level infrastructure and advancing their technical skills.

• Hardware Installation & Support:
  Rack and stack servers, switches, and related hardware in MDF and IDF rooms, and occasionally in small data center spaces.
• Cable Management & Patching:
  Perform cable management, patching (CAT6 and fiber optics), and labeling to ensure organized and reliable network infrastructure.
• Smart Hands Support:
  Assist with equipment swaps, basic troubleshooting, power cycling, and cable tracing to support ongoing infrastructure needs.
• System Testing & Turn‑Up:
  Conduct testing, configuration, and initial setup of new hardware and network equipment.

• 3+ years in a field or infrastructure technician role, preferably within enterprise or data center environments.
• Strong hands‑on experience with MDF and IDF hardware, cable management, and physical hardware installation.
• Background in cabling and low‑voltage wiring a plus.
• Certifications such as CompTIA (A+ or Network+), BICSI, etc. a plus.

This is a contract opportunity paying up to $30/hour
